BET Awards 2022 Review (PART II)

Disclosure: Happy Pride Month, Black Music History Month, and Caribbean American Heritage Month. If you are easily trigged, annoyed, or bothered please stop reading. To my returning readers, thank you for your continued support and understanding. This is the BET Awards 2022 Review (PART II).

If you have read my previous post you will understand why I felt at times confused watching the BET Awards 2022 show. Other moments did not feel right. Take into account the Memorium section of the show where it highlights persons within the industry that have transitioned over the year (June 2021-June 2022) at the end they closed it with "IN MEMORY OF ALL LIVES LOST DUE TO GUN VIOLENCE." What bothered me was seeing Kevin Samuels (Social Media Influencer) this is the same Black Man that told Women  "If You Don't Want $&X on the Table then don't go on dates after 5 p.m. ...  If you go out after 5pm $&x with a man $%x should be on the menu." Made a profit from insulting Black Women with toxic and dangerous rhetorics. While "consulting" a Black Woman that she was  "average at best.

During his session with another Black Woman, Kevin Samuels stated, "so many look and say why did a guy  (Russell Wilson) who's  a Superbowl Winning Quarterback go choose to become a ... step father, and you wouldn't see Tom Brady doing it." Let me dispel this talking point here as Tom Brady does have a child outside prior with actress Bridget Moynahan to becoming married to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, both Superbowl Champions who are fathers prior to getting married, so this narrative once again is not productive to the community as a whole.

He continued later in the session with the same Black Woman during the session that "..There are no Blending Families.  ... This is why Single Mothers are potentially so dangerous. ... Why would you blow up a marriage why would you just believe her children lie." As the community was speaking out in support or denouncing the rhetoric of Kevin Samuels, I found myself seeing a Black Mother defend her husband in real-time as she revealed in part, "... my own daughter had been sleeping with my husband when she was in middle school. I now have a grandchild ... all because she was jealous of me. Now she has these YouTube videos defaming me." On Alethia Deveaux, Twitter page has "Mother of 4, grandmother, put God first. #FreeEddie" Whose Eddie you might ask Eddie is her husband she's defending over her child who was harmed in middle school, as a result, became pregnant at a young age.  According to reports by Bradenton.com and other news outlets, Eddie Deveaux allegedly harmed the child between 2008-2010. In the summer of 2019, the abuse was disclosed, an investigation was launched, and the DNA confirmed paternity, Eddie was arrested and charged with assaulting a child and abusing a child. Currently, Eddie remains in custody, on a bond of $150K.

Another point last year Kevin Samuels posted on his Twitter and other social media platforms "... Another fallacy beauty is not subjective ... that's why we have beautiful people ... you can map their facial structure and it goes to mathematical calculation.  The thing is we're talking about Black Women they are on the opposite of the spectrum on all ranks. ... Black Women are starting to look more masculine. ... Black women's biggest enemy is Hispanic women? .... She understands how to season food ... she understands feminity."  Only to find himself months later with a Hispanic/Hawaiian Island Pacificer woman whom he "allegedly" met in one day and brought her back to his apartment.

Now his red-pill and high-value communities are cheering the fact that the BET Awards acknowledge his contributions. I see it as a slap to the Black Community that regardless of how toxic your rhetoric is, no matter whose lives are affected you will be rewarded, as long as you bash, blame, disrespect, and dismiss Black Women and Black Children in the process. I can not tell you the number of Threads I read during my time on Twitter (prior to being denied access to my account since May 17, 2022), where brave souls came forward with allegations of abuse by a family member, family friend, mentor, etc., that violated the basic trust and innocence of a child, only to use it as a weapon to cause harm. When the allegations were brought forward the now-adult individual confessed family members denied the event, called them names everything but the child of God, and even kicked these souls out to protect the image of the family. Again I am no moral police but if this is Culture's Biggest Night why are we furthering the exploitation and disrespect of Black Women for a look.

Disclaimer: If you are easily offended, triggered, bothered, etc. Please stop reading. To the returning readers/supporters. Thank you for your continued support. "When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time"-Dr. Maya Angelou  Special Note to the Wyoming Democratic Party it is your responsibility that the candidate that won in Wyoming District 1 and other Democrats in the state are given support on all levels and ensure voters are engaged.                     Liz Cheney will just fine she was never an ally because she held Trump's hand and supported his rhetoric until it no longer suited her public image as the country and the world witnessed the January 6 attack, where Domestic Terrorists breached the Capitol building which resulted in an estimated $1 million in damages. Over 140+ US Capitol Officers were injured which resulted in five officers' death on January 6, 2021, and months following due to harming...

After Buffalo, How Many More? (Part I)

Disclaimer: Sensitive Topic Please Be Advised. To the Survivors, Victims, Families, and the Community of Buffalo, New York, there is nothing that I can say to take the pain away, but I hope this moment will finally push the legislative branch to make changes on the federal level. My condolences during this difficult time.                 As the community of Buffalo, New York comes to the reality of what occurred on May 14, 2022. It has become evident that we are being targeted.  According to the FBI, there has been an increase in Hate-Crime at the highest levels in 12+ years.  The target victims are primarily Black Individuals followed by AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Individuals. While there have been strides in the legislative branch to impede these actions from the Emmett Till Anti Lynching Act and the Covid-19 Hates Crime becoming law under the Biden-Harris Administration. Until the legislative branch makes laws t...

1015+ Days Since Breonna Taylor πŸ‘‘πŸ•ŠπŸ¦‹ #SayHerName πŸ‘‘ #SayTheirNames πŸ‘‘

Disclosure: To the victims' families my continued support during this difficult time. There are not enough words to describe the moment when a loved one is no longer here.               It has been 1,015+ days since Breonna Taylor transitioned many assumed that her story would be forgotten due to mainstream media's lack of coverage of violence against black Women according to FiveThirtyEight, "... women  account for less than 4 percent of fatal police shootings, however, FiveThirtyEight found an estimated  20% of the women fatally shot by police are Black, even though Black women account for approximately 13% of women in the U.S. Another finding by Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump stated from 2015-2020 an estimated 400+ Black Women have been unalive while in an officer's custody.             Only one officer has been convicted the one officer now former officer Aaron Dean who was sentenced to 11 y...
