Accountability & Importance of Voting (Part I)

 Disclosure: To the families of the January 6 attacks, and to the Women who have the painful journey of a miscarriage, and or abortion my thoughts are with you. I hope this piece is a conversation piece.

           As the "draft" announcement of  "Roe v. Wade" would be overturned next month a ripple effect went on social media platforms and news outlets alike. Later we found out there would be an "investigation" into who leaked the documents.  The question should not be who leaked the documents but rather where is the investigation on Clarence Thomas a sitting SCOTUS Justice and his wife Virginia Thomas who funded 80+ buses to the January 6 Domestic Terrorists attack which claimed the life of US Capitol Officer Brian Sicknick which was later deemed as natural causes of multiple strokes and not due to the chemical sprayed on him during the attacks by a medical examiner. 

          Over 140+ Captial officers were injured during the January 6 insurrection attacks lasting an estimated 7 hours, domestic terrorists passed urine and feces in the halls of the Capitol stole and broke property costing an estimated $1 million+ in damages. Following the domestic attacks of January 6, 2021, on the Capitol building four more officers Gunther Hashida, Howard Liebengood, Kyle DeFreytag, and Jeffery Smith all died due to harming themselves. 

           Virginia Thomas's actions/support of dismantling democracy goes beyond funding the domestic terrorists as the additional news broke of her involvement with former White House Chief of Staff Meadows with 20+ texts about overturning the will of the people in 2020, of 155 million+ individuals voted. Then-candidate now President Joseph Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris received 81.3 million votes.  Since then there have been over 580+ Anti-Voting Bills introduced in 45+ States, with 52 Anti-Voter Bills in 21 States.  Now if Voting is such a non-factor why did the January 6 Domestic Terrorist Attacks occur?  Why did 140+ sitting Congress members vote to overturn the will of the people? Why did Lt. Charles Flynn former Army Deputy Chief  (brother of Michael Flynn the former National Security Advisor who was found guilty for lying to the FBI was later granted a pardon by 45) withholding the National Guard during January 6 attacks?

Some of Virginia Thomas's advocacy includes:

  • Repealing the Affordable Care Act
  • Repealing COVID-19 mandates 
  • Repealing Affirmative Action Anti-Transgender Rights
  • Repealing Roe vs. Wade
  • Overturning the 2020 Election

               The will of the people should always be at the forefront and when persons in high positions mishandle or weaponize their positions there should be accountability. While there are Checks and Balances in place for the three branches of Government Executive, Legislative (Congress), and Judicial. The Judicial branch has yet to adopt or have a formal code of ethics at the federal level.  The process for impeachment is similar to the Presidential it would be heard and passed in the House of Representatives and then tried in the Senate. Currently, there are 48 Democrats, 2 Independents, and 50 GOP (GQP) (GIP) in the Senate and a slim majority in the House of Representatives. 

          On November 8, 2022, 34 seats are up in the Senate and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives are in Congress on the Federal Level.  At the state level 36 Governor races, 3 US Territories including the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

         Roe v. Wade was first ruled in 1973 which states a woman has the right to terminate her pregnancy safely.  Regardless of a woman's reasoning for an abortion politicians since then have tried to overturn this protection for women.  In the words of Madam Vice President Kamala Harris "... Those Republican leaders who are trying to weaponize the use of the law against women. ... How dare they tell a woman what she can do and cannot do with her own body? ...How dare they deny women their rights and their freedoms?" This is no longer a Democratic, Independent, or Republican issue this is becoming an attack on the American vision. We should all be outraged. Just because something does not directly affect you does not give you the right to bound other people to your morals. People around the world envy our freedom, our culture, and the pursuit of our happiness. Do not throw away your vote for a moment.

        Voting is attached to everything we know from Judicial (Judges, Sheriffs) Education (Board of Education) Housing, Financial, etc.
